Aakeen Parikh

Aakeen is the founder and director of The Minazi Impact, a social enterprise committed to reducing gender inequality through sustainable innovation in engineering.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts & Manufactures (FRSA). Aakeen was featured in the WISE100 Women in Social Enterprise list for 2024 and recognised as a ‘Equality and Empowerment Champion’ - 2024. She is also an ambassador for the QE Prize for Engineering and an outspoken advocate for EDI.
Aakeen has contributed actively in the field of rural development through her role at e.quinox, a technological innovation society (2014 - 2018), where she's been part of several projects. She was the lead designer for an off-grid solar-powered washing machine for the eradication of time poverty, the project became a finalist at the 2020 IGHI student challenges competition.
Aakeen enjoys combining her creativity with her passion for change and is passionate about impact innovation, social development, poverty alleviation, equality, climate sustainability, human rights and education.
Aakeen received an Arkwright Scholarship at 16, which propelled her to the field of engineering. She completed her integrated Master's degree and PhD from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London. Aakeen enjoys studying energy systems and thermodynamics, and her PhD was in the performance assessments of centrifugal compressors under engine conditions.
Devlyn Lalonde

Devlyn Lalonde is a strategic global leader with a track record in partnerships, innovation, and organisational growth. He currently serves as the Head of Global Programmes at The RSA (Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) in London, where he leads the development of international strategic partnerships to expand the organisation’s portfolio of interventions and drive impact at scale. In this role, Devlyn is responsible for securing funding for the RSA’s international programmes.
Prior to joining The RSA, Devlyn built diverse experience as a consultant with an international market research firm and as a co-founder of a technology start-up, where he helped shape business strategy and operational execution in competitive markets. His academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management from Carleton University, focusing on the intersections of data science, business, and public policy. His work has been incorporated into the Government of Canada’s Blueprint 2020 modernisation plan, and he was previously a member of the Clerk of the Privy Council’s Advisory Council.
